Inaugural racers are those that have registered for every race since we began in 2014. They receive a special race shirt, as shown here by Shananne and Jessica in 2021.
They also have their race bibs placed perfectly for identification purposes.
Race bibs are provided for identification purposes and MUST be clearly visible from the time you arrive at the starting line until the race is complete. Your very first photo at the starting line should have your bib number prominently shown. The racers in this 2021 photo have them placed perfectly.
It is against our rules to race in any shirt other than our branded race shirts. This is mentioned many, many, many times throughout the weeks before the race. We reserve the right to remove you from the race without a refund if you do not wear our shirt.
However, you can dress up your outfit to suit yourself. In fact, we encourage it! The race if designed for fun, so make it as much fun as you want!
We guarantee and promise you will get wet, and during some races, many times.
Don't wear your new shoes! You must have shoes on during the times you are going from challenge to challenge. Safety first and last!
Yes, we are going to make you do weird things during the challenges. You can bet on it!
Will you be expected to lift anything heavy while doing the challenges? No, but if you choose to lift your team mate, you're on your own!
(You will never be expected to lift anything that you are physically incapable of lifting. Just say the word if something is too heavy and we'll adjust your challenge!)
Racers must be at least 10 years old on the day of the race. This is not negotiable. At least one racer MUST be a legal adult. It can be a parent or guardian.
No, you cannot have your friend, child, neighbor, best friend, aunt, grandmother... tag along with you on the race course. Each and every racer must follow the published race course. Short cuts or other diversions are not permitted. This is not negotiable. If you cannot finish the race for any reason, simply let a volunteer or Quadrant Captain know and they will send someone to pick you up and take you to your vehicle or call 911, as is appropriate.
Our race teams are teams of two (2). No more, no less.
Get out of doing the worst challenge - it's usually gross! By paying $5 cash per racer.
You can still do the challenge if you insist, but we recommend against it!
Last year, we used all the expired can foods from Lake Cares Food Panty to fill up a big plastic tub and only a very few of you chose to put your hand in there!
Every year we have a charity that is not receiving funds from the race, but we choose to help by giving them something that their organization needs. LovExtension needs detergent for their clients. Bring a container, any size, shape, brand, per racer. You will hand that over at the bus stop.
We appreciate each racer, each sponsor, each charity, and each volunteer that has worked with us to benefit the Lake County, Florida community. Since 2014, we've donated, with your help, over $266,000 to local charities!
And countless other items like diapers and detergent... The list is long!
In the months before the race, we send out several emails to let you know super important details about the race. If you have given us an email address with your registration that you do not check often, please either give us a different email address, or check that account often. YOU WILL MISS IMPORTANT INFO if you do not get our emails! Thanks! (We do not spam you or sell your info.)
P.S. The majority of the questions we get in the weeks up till race day were already answered in those emails. If you have registered and not received email from us by the time we are 3 weeks out from the race, please contact us by email or check the Facebook page for updates. Please DO NOT message us on Facebook. We may never see that message. We are all volunteers. Thanks!
