details about the race day
It takes up to 300 volunteers to produce the race each year! We would love to have you! You must be an adult of at least 18 years of age to volunteer on your own. 14-17 year olds can volunteer with a parent or guardian.
Wear comfortable clothes & shoes - IT WILL BE HOT, so Bring Water for Personal Use - If unable to stand for 3 – 4 hours, please bring a chair - Race starts promptly at 8:30 am, with 2/3/4 Teams Starting Every Minute - Please be SAFE, courteous and obey all traffic laws - Contact your Quadrant Captain/Volunteer Leader if you have any questions - You will be notified by Race Staff when the last team has passed your location - Please keep a big smile on your face until the last team has passed - Be as energetic for the last team as the first 200+ teams - Please check out with Quadrant Captain/Volunteer Leader - Most importantly, have fun! And if possible, plan to go to the Finish Line to help cheer in the racers as they finish!

Even if you have volunteered in previous years, you need to register each year. That includes board members, quadrant captains, charities, sponsors with volunteers, etc. Thanks!
GENERATE EXCITEMENT
The Race Teams are either running, walking, skipping or jumping to get to each challenge. Stay upbeat and excited and make them feel like a million bucks as they approach you. Be silly if you want and have fun!
KEEP PHYSICAL DISTANCING IN MIND
While we are redesigning our challenges and other stations to be more physically distanced, you may have a mask to wear when you're in close quarters with anyone IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO and keep up with whatever cleaning procedures you've been assigned. Let's all stay safe and have fun! We will have all necessary cleaning and sanitizing products available for your use and for the racers.

In past years, we've had a sponsor that paid for volunteer t-shirts. That ended with the 2021 race. Please wear one of the following: a shirt that represents the group you are volunteering with, a volunteer shirt from a previous year, or an orange t-shirt. Thanks!
